I want a 24/96 iPod or a portable SACD player!
Ten years ago, Sony presented a mock-up of a (very sexy) portable SACD player. I must still have a picture somewhere. Too bad it still hasn't materialized.

I am waiting for a small iPod to be made for my 24 Bit 96kHz high resolution downloads. I have found some portable 24/96 recorders but I really just need the playback function.
If you haven't tried them the 24/96 downloads from HD Tracks are great especially the ones from Reference Recordings! http://www.hdtracks.com/index.php?file=9624albums But dang it I want to play them on my iPod and my iPod will not accept them, seems lossless WAV and AIFF is the highest resolution I can load! Which is better than MP3. Oh well, I want a 24/96 iPod or a portable SACD player!
wow - i had never heard of HDTracks - thanks.
A fairly limited selection but frankly i would rather listen to any HQ music than sandpaper quality CDs. I am already downloading my first albums.
Are there any other 24/96 download sites?

Hello SA-CD.Neters....My name is brendan b brown. I am the singer, songwriter, producer and engineer for my band wheatus.
Heh, wow, I know of you guys! -- Did the Super Audio center shut down? I was local to it, I always wanted to visit Gus.. Guess I lost my chance...
a Wheatus album in DSD -- great. :)
It'd be awesome actually if you guys *did* release this on SACD but, I'm guessing likely not. I could put it together for you from the DSD tracks even, and send an AIT-2 tape all set up in CMF format...... but I presume I'm getting too hopeful there :)
But, honestly, with DSD disc...well... Won't complain!
Oh -- One more thing. The DSD files burnt to a DSD disc at home will also play on the SCD-XA5400ES, so you might want to add that to your list.

EDIT: Wow, okay I was wrong, the Super Audio center is still in operation! Excellent. But some bad news though (in my opinion) - John Hiatt's newest was recoreded there --- but not released on SACD? Jeez...
