Heinz Holliger is an incredible oboeist. His breath control is astounding and his musicianship and taste shines through every bar. These are splendid performances of wonderful music, beautifully recorded. As a long time classical record collector, I always considered Philips recordings from the 70s and early 80s (and their presssings) to be the best in the business, and my LP collection is full of them. It's great to have them available on SACD.
