I'm still waiting for the SACD's of the individual albums, which were rumoured to appear shortly after this release (way back when).

If sales in Cologne & Venlo are any indication, this SACD sold so poorly that the other releases were pulled, pronto.

I saw multiple copies in the bargain 8.99 (Euro) bin a few months after release in both cities.

There is probably no hope for the individual albums to appear now on SACD, since the remastered CD's are selling so cheaply (about $ 9 CDN each from Amazon.ca).

Those interested may want to check out the rather amazing amazon price at the moment (following the link above, of course!).

I used the link and figured I couldn't go wrong for $10. Now that I have the disk I'm very glad I got it. Sonics are good and the music, a bit folkish, is very enjoyable. Thanks for pointing this disc out.

Thanks from me as well-- I just now ordered the SACD by following the Amazon link up top. I'm new to Drake's music, so I'm looking forward to this-- I'll likely take it on vacation for post-dinner listening.

You're in for a treat Tom! Wonderful music.

I'm looking forward to it and thanks for the endorsement, Nagraboy!

If I had any concern about ordering it, it was whether SACD might expose overmuch the limitations of the period engineering-- I find the format can be a discomfiting truth-teller in that regard. (Call it the Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery Syndrome.)

Well, yes it doesn't sound as good as a Channel Classics DSD recording or a top Classical recording of the same era, but it's such good music that's it's eminently listenable and the slightly coarse recording quality doesn't detract too much. Some tracks sound better than others as it is a compilation, particularly the sparser tracks.
