The interesting aspect here is that BMG are still releasing SACDs.
Harnoncourt will have his work cut out to equal Kubelik's fine recording. Incidentally, Telarc recorded the work in DSD about ten years ago, but it was never released as an SACD.

I ordered a copy from HMV hongkong website. They might still have it.

The tenor is Piotr Beczala. Does anyone know anything about him? Seems like an odd request from an artist, who you think would want his talents displayed in the best possible light. Perhaps he wasn't happy with his performance.
