I'm looking for some guidance here. I have a SONY DAV-DZ500F and recently purchased the Dylan box set of SACDs and also some Stones SACDs. When I play them, if I select the CD option, sound comes from all 5 speakers. But when I select SA-CD option I only get sound from the the Bass and front two speakers. Is there a setting on the player that I have missed or is this what's meant to happen ? As examples, the bar code for Let It Bleed is 04228823032 and the bar code for Desire is 5099751234562. Any advice would be appreciated.

It looks like you activated some setting on the system that artificially generates a 5.1-signal from the CD layer (which is only stereo of course).
Not all SACDs have surround content. I think only one Dylan title has been remixed for surround, all the others and the Stones SACDs are stereo, which means that sound will only come from the front (unless your system creates some artificial surround sound).

Depends on which Dylan your playing. Several, more than one, have surrond sound. Not stunning surround but surround none the less. As Claude said all Stones SACDs are stereo except the remix of "Sympathy For The Devil".
Claude is right in that you have some setting incorrect if you get sound from all speakers when playing a CD.
You can look on the back of the Dylan covers to see if it is surround. "Blonde On Blonde" is surround and is so denoted on the back cover of the case.
