I did a lot of a/b'ing with the Paradigms and the B&W's before buying. The B&W's cannot be talked badly about, they held their own. The deciding factor for me was the center image that the Paradigms's threw. I preferred their sound to that of the B&W, and the Paradigms were more suited to my taste. I like a little "zip" in a speaker, much like a MB Quart. When I focused on the soundstage, though, there was no comparison. I just couldn't get the same "voice in front of you" realness with the B&W's. I'm using my Studio 60's without the factory jumper, opting for true bi-wire cables.
