Lindberg,

So the Blu-Ray disc is audio only? Will you make the SA-CD available seperately?

Yes, the Blu-ray is audio only. There is a video guide system implemented that let you choose which encoding to listen to. We have currently no plans of splitting the box into a separate SACD, as long as it is a two-for-the price-of-one.

Thanks for the reply Lindberg. The two-for-the price-of-one is very encouraging. I do not have a Blu-Ray player yet, so I may invest in this for the SA-CD!

I don't have a Blu-Ray yet and presently have no plans for obtaining one. But I will certainly buy this for the SACD.

I think the main problem in doing a comparison at the moment is that there are audiophile SACD players available now but no decent standard Blu-Ray players and processors available yet.....Please correct me if I am wrong....

Also, is it possible to release a stereo only verson on DTS-MA or Dolby TRU HD or would this not be worthwhile as SACD stereo would be better?

Thanks
Mark

How do we get the discount price? The price on the website seems quite expensive.

You're right, Mark; the BD-players currently available from Sony sounds OK, but it's not close to the performance of the best audiophile SACD-players yet. The advantage of these BD-players is that you can direct the digital stream by HDMI to a high quality DAC of your own choice.

The Blu-ray disc of DIVERTIMENTI contains a dedicated linear PCM 24/192 stereo stream, so we have not made a discrete stereo in DTS-MA or Dolby THD. It might be obvious but I would like to remind those listening in stereo; choosing DTS or Dolby mch thru a receiver letting the receiver performing a "down mix" will not provide the same result as our dedicated linear PCM 24/192 stereo stream.

For DIVERTIMENTI we also offer stereo DSD as HiRes audio file download:

DTS Master Audio, but it all depends on your receiver ...

Blu-Ray (dual layer):
- Stereo Linear PCM 24 BIT / 192 kHz
- MCH 5.1 Linear PCM 24 BIT / 192 kHz
- MCH 5.1 DTS HD Master Audio 24 BIT / 192 kHz
- MCH 5.1 Dolby True HD 24 BIT / 192 kHz
- MCH 5.1 DD 48kHz

Lindberg can you explain this to me? Why would DTS HD Master Audio be better than Linear PCM? Do you say that because of the use of PS3/receiver combination that could anyway not render a good enough Linear PCM?
Can you also technically explain the difference between the encodings? What is added in the DTS/Dolby True HD versions? It always sounded like artifacts to me.

The price found on our web shop is actually that of one normal CD in Norway. This is an unfortunate currency issu. The prices are defined in NOK and then converted into EURO or USD. I feel sorry for all Americans these days ...

Hybrid Super Audio CD included -- plays on all standard CD players and computers.

Lindberg,

I would be careful with that statement about PCs. They *should* play and many of them will but there are ones (for instance with early DVD drives) that are known to have problems with hybrid SACDs. There are threads about that issue here from a while ago.

Nice design by the way. It seems you missed the DSD logo though?

Also, did you find it odd to write "1 bit / 2822 kHz", which would have been consistent with the other notations?
