I don't have many hybrids, but when I put in Elton John's 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,' it recognizes the SACD layer & multichannel mix.
Welcome aboard. Either the disc or the player must be faulty. If other hybrid discs work in the player, you should find another SACD player and try the disc in that. If a different player finds the SACD layer, you should contact Sony or the store where you bought the DAV-S500. If you happen to know anyone with another copy of the disc you could try, that would be good, too. This is all obvious stuff, but I can't think there's much else anyone's going to be able to tell you.
