Off topic but relevant......Elliot Scheiner's original 5.1 remix (which was discarded for an alternate 5.1 release) of Layla will be released in March 2011.

I have a feeling that we'll be buying updated remasters of SACDs which we already own until ........

What's next.....Alan Parson's QUAD "Dark Side Of The Moon" remaster on commercial SACD or DVD~A?

Just as logically as blu~ray will be upgraded to Super Blu~Ray (4000 X 2000) and we'll be buying The Wizard of Oz again in that format.........and we won't be in Kansas anymore....

We'll be in the poor house!

Ah, TECHNOLOGY!

Its not only my opinion re Kind of Blue but many others as well. I was going to listen to it again, prompted by Rammiepie but now remember that I gave it with other discs to a Charity shop.

Well, charity begins at home. Buy it again and be bop, be bop, my baby.....or as Keith Jarrett surmised in his album, BOP BE!

This would be a waste of time & money. I would probably offend a lot of people on this forum if I posted my precise opinion.

We'll make a BOPPER out of DISBELIEVER, yet!

But seriously, if it's really not your cup o' tea, then NO apologies are needed. It's simply your opinion.

There are a lot of genres of music that I don't care for and I make NO apologies!

Regarding the currently available Japanese KoB, Catalog No. SICP-10083
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=SICP-10083

, what are the improvements in its sonics over the original 1999 US sacd?

The SICP10083 disc was newly remastered for the October 2007 10 disc release from Sony Japan, and is a hybrid disc
The 1999 disc was made from the late 90's remastering after they found the mistake in tape speeds on one of the recorders. This is a single layer disc.

Sonically, I find the 2007 discs to be slightly more refined than the earlier sacd releases of the same discs.

So would you say the Sony SICP10083 is THE definitive SACD of Kind of Blue?
