I've listened through the Brautigam disc a few times in the last week. The Waldstein is a tremendous performance.

I have a very old cd of Ronald Brautigam playing the whole cycle of Rachmaninov Preludes for piano. It´s still my favourite of all complete cycles, easily beating Ashkenazy, Weissenberg, Laredo and few others.

Would it be possible to persuade Ronald give us some more Rachmaninov etc., or is he playing only viennese classics with fortepiano these days?

Hello Bissie (and all)

I listened some weeks ago (at FNAC) a CD of Bach-BIS-Suzuki and I discovered that after 25 years of classical music I was now "ready" for listening and appreciate Bach's cantatas !

My choice was immediatly for your releases with Suzuki. All is good for my taste : quality and size of Bach Collegium Japan, quality of the singers (europeans and japanese), quality of all records made at the same place (very good acoustic) etc. and of course release in SACD (from N°28). I've got all the 13 SACD (+ the mass, the easter and ascension oratorios, the extracts of St-Matthiew passion) and I'm buying actually the 27 RBCD volumes. (arrgh if they could be all in SACD format !!).

I have now for years to discover and learn all these treasures of sacred music ! Thanks to BIS and the wonderful Masaaki Suzuki !

Please Bissie, what are the next releases of Suzuki ?
I saw you made a RBCD with 2 secular cantatas. Will you record all the seculars cantatas too in SACD ?
Is it possible that you "remaster" in SACD some of the last RBCD ?

Best wishes - Dominique

Hello

I went thursday evening at concert in my town (Lille/France)
It was played the Shostakovich/Hamlet suite (part), Tchaikovsky/Concerto pour piano (with Marie-Claire Le Guay) and Walton/Symphonie No 1
The conductor was Orwain Arwel Hughes.

On concert's notes was told that this conductor just recorded the two Walton symphonies with Orchestre national de LILLE for BIS label and the release was for 2009/2010.

Bissie, I hope it will be SACD as you said me some weeks ago ;-)
Did the recording seances was good ? What do you think of the Lille's auditorium acoustic ?

Best regards - Dominique
