That works out to a bit less than $19 per disc, nearly half of which are CD-quality. What a bargain.

Already no 1 bestseller on Amazon.co.jp. What are the last 3 SACD's you bought steviev?

Oh man, why isn't this new 3-disc set of Reger orchestral works SACD? I'd think that format would help to clarify his often dense writing.
BIS will make the music better than it sounds.

Dear Robert,
I just read in the schedule of the OPRL (Orchestre Philarmonique Royal de Liège) that there is a SACD of Respighi with the OPRL conducted by John Neschling to be released soon by BIS. Being from Liège and used to listening to this orchestra, may I ask you a few questions ?
When will it be released ? When did you record it ? Did you record this disc in Liège or somewhere else ? How did you find the room in Liege ? (acoustically) Do you plan to release more recordings with the OPRL ?
I think it's only the second time the orchestra from my town is recorded in SACD. So it's a instant buy from myself, to support SACD, OPRL and BIS !
Thanks

I guess some people have a lot of spare yen lying around. It's not like they're getting any sort of price break with this box.
I'm not sure, but I know the Aho 15th Symphony, etc. was the last SACD I bought. Definitely the best single-disc introduction to Aho's music on SACD, equal to the RBCD 11th Symphony and Symphonic Dances, but in glorious multichannel. Fascinating and compelling music from beginning to end.

Yes, it clashed with a harmonia mundi release, so we delayed it a bit. I have now put it in for April 11.
Best - Robert

It has been released, as BIS-2050 SACD April 2013 In Liège Actually, very good. Yes - next recording, also with music by Resighi, is planned for June this year.
Best - Robert

Robert this one includes the Brazilian Impressions. Any chance the next will include The Birds?

How about the orchestral works of Heino Eller, as pendant to BIS's great Tubin series of yore. Probably not a complete survey -- Eller was prolific. Maybe the three symphonies, violin concerto, and a selection of his choicest tone poems?
