Dare I hope for the Inge Borkh/Fritz Reiner Elektra & Salome exerpts??????
Some days ago I received some more informations regarding the remastering: Studer-Aria-Taperecorder directly connected with dCS-converters, no noise-reduction or other changes of the original material. Three channels for: -Saints-Saens/Debussy -Piano concertos Tschaikowsky, Rachmaninow -Mussorgsky and others -Chopin, Rubinstein -Puccini- and Verdi-Arien, Leontyne Price
The other 5 re-issues will be 2-channel

Hello Wilfried,
I agree. These look like digipacks, which usually have a booklet inside with the normal "full-size" (CD size) cover on it.

There doesn't appear to be any mention whether these are Japan-only releases or not. Will they be available in local USA shops too?

I've just ordered two complete sets of these discs (the other set is for my brother) from Acoustic Sounds for $135.00 a set (plus postage, although that is apparently free within in the US). That's $13.50 a disc! The release date is given as September 14. I quote "Newly remastered in DSD (Direct Stream Digital) from original source tape by the Grammy award winning Soundmirror engineering team headed by John Newton."
