I am surprised and thankful for Pentatone's agressive North American pricing strategy for this and other releases.
Check out our price in Canada for this title - $14.99 CDN is less than half the UK price! Amazing. How can you go wrong?
Pentatone rocks!
I have just oredered the Shostakovich Sym 5 and 9 and still waiting for it! Will get the above when it becomes available.

After hearing the excellent Russian Violin Concertos disc, as well as the Mendellsohn Piano Trios, I have already decided that getting this one is a no-brainer.
Beware,
This one may not be everybody's cup of tea.
Not sure whether this is the same performance, but it will give you some idea of how Ms Fischer treats the Brahms:

Ok - I read it and I really have to wonder what you saw in that review that makes you feel you need to say "This one may not be everybody's cup of tea." ??? The very opening sentence:
"This Sunday matinee concert at the Concertgebouw presented two works in highly involving performances."
indicates to me that the reviewer was very favorably impressed. If you read my post in the "Discussion Brahms: Violin Concerto, Double Concerto - Fischer, Kreizberg", you will see that the recording certainly is MY cup of tea! I regard it as one of the two most wonderful performances I ever heard of anything in my whole life!
I do accept that "my cup of tea" may not suit everyone. But I really can't find the apparent negativity you do in the review you provide a link to.
Exactly which words made you wary?
May I also suggest you read Castor's site review; /showreviews/4503#4535 for a little balance?
