I just purchased this SACD and neither of my players (Oppo 103 and Sony BDP590) will read the SACD layer. It only plays as a red book CD. This is is the only SACD in my collection that I have encountered this issue with.

I will say that if RBCD sound was the only thing available for this performance of Ein Heldenleben, I would still recommend it. While vacationing in London, my wife and I had the opportunity to hear Luisi and the LSO perform this piece at the Barbican. I had not cared much for this music up until that point, but it was perhaps the most mesmerizing concert experience I have ever had. Maybe the LSO is just that good? The list of orchestras I have heard live is short - none of the great American ones (unless you count Dallas), and we also heard the Philharmonia while in London.

Then it's probably not a SACD.

It's a darn good forgery then. The disc is the usual gold color of a hybrid SACD has the SACD labeling on top. Maybe I should have known better than to order it from a Chinese vendor on eBay.

No problem here. Oppo display shows it's an sacd.

Has it ever been put on an RBCD? I think "probably not."

Chinese often do this with "SACDs." I've been to China and Vietnam both and each time the SACD was nothing but a regular old RBCD.

Yours probably is a SACD, but not the other person's.
