Is this a new recording, or something that never released in the States? Volodos has been very quiet in the recording world, and I am really looking forward to a new album.

Thanks, Zeus. Sad you have to go to German site, since the US Sony/BMG site is crap to find anything useful. I should at least be thankful that Sony cares enough to make this SACD, although I wonder if it is stereo (like all his others) or Multi Channel.

PS, I cant wait to hear his octave work in funereilles and how well that low C will sound.

Tchaikovsky: Piano Concerto No. 1 etc. - Volodos is most definitely *not* (just) stereo.

You must have a different 'sticker' on your SACD then mine, as my copy "most definetly" says SACD Stereo.

This is a great site our kids should use for submitting homework, as it is full of people that like to "check for spelling" rather then for content, or the spirit of the message. No wonder people think those that love classical music are a bunch of nervouse twits.

The Tchaikovsky 1st PC, unlike his recording of the Rach 3rd PC, is mch - an excellent performance with good sound.

When I first started purchasing SACDs, I decided to replace my RBCD recording of Volodos in the Rach 3 with the SACD. To my immense disappointment, I found out that that the Rach was stereo only. The improvement in sound quality was so minimal, I wouldn't have bothered had I known; it is not a very good recording in either format.

I'm not really quite sure how to read your post but rather than looking at the label, I listened and heard MCH.

Although JPC lists this Liszt as being stereo and mch, confirmation by someone who has heard it is essential before purchase.

absolutely - i bought a "MCH" release on JPC's say-so before. it wasn't....
