If anybody could get Steven Isserlis do record some SACDs, I would buy all of them. And of course Anner Bylsma if he still plays as well...

Not concertos, but sonatas...

Quintone? new to me. These all look like delicious additions to my WishList, especially Winterreisse. (I'm enjoying the on-line samples at work just now).

If not, Bylsma has some great redbook CDs which sound Very Good. His technique was excellent when we heard him live about 3 years ago. Cellists seem to age well....

I agree about Isserlis: The Protecting Veil should be SACD.

Hope Jared Sacks is listening! Wispelwey would be a logical candidate, but based on his Haydn, so would Praga's Michal Kanka.

Wispelwey has released 30 cd's and the last 6 have been SACD. We have a Brahms SACD coming out in two weeks.
We had already recorded the Haydn Concertos, the Vivaldi sonatas and concertos on CD. these he played on period instruments. For the moment, I don't see us re recording the Haydn pieces. In the fall we are releasing a new recording of Dvorak Cello concerto with Budapest Festival Orchestra.

I'll buy it!

Based on recent history, anything you do is done very, very well!

Beagle's lament, if I remember correctly was for Vivaldi 'cello concerti. I said Wispelwey would be a natural. There are a couple I know of that are very nice.

Personally, I would like to see at least the first Martinu 'cello concerto - actually there might be room for it with the Dvorak - if there is time to record it.

Those two would make a smash hit coupling!

If you do not know this music and would like to, contact me via email.

Nice to hear you like the samples! You now can order the complete SACD also on the website.

Hi Jared
we're eternal optimists on this site - and chance of coupling it with Dvorak's 7th. symphony? :)
