Is someone able to ferret out some reviews of the concerts? Presumably one of the opera magazines would've reviewed it.
Siegfried is allegedly on 3 discs rather than 4. Very fast conducting, or cuts.

The DVDs were taken from 1999 live performances. Judging by the cast lists the SACDs come not from these but from the October 2005 live performances, which were broadcast on radio. The Siegfried does fit one act per disc, approximately timings being 76:45, 70:10 and 78:10. From memory it's not a bad cycle.

I was lucky enough to attend both the 1999 and 2005 cycles and am glad to see that it is the 2005 one that is appearing on SACD.
The singing was much better overall and Haenchen's conducting was more confident and generally impressive this time around, using just the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra for the whole cycle rather than, as in 1999, a different one for each of the four operas.
It will be interesting to hear the sound balance on the SACDs with the unusual placing of the orchestra in the centre of the stage action.
