Who cares? Get Volodos (Tchaikovsky) and Ogawa (Greig) and avoid the risk.

The playing on the Volodos disc is great, but I find the sound to be harsh and cold. I have many CDs that sound better.

Of all my Exton-SACDs with Kobayashi, this is the "best" concerning his disturbing mannerism. And for the rest I wrote a short review (look at "reviews"). Today I listened to both concertos one more time and I only can repeat my recommendation. These are careful and lyric interpretations which surpass Volodos and Ogawa. Naturally this is a point of individual taste. For example I prefer the more lyric approach to the Tschaikowsky whereas others will prefer the powerful playing of Volodos (BTW I am sure that the Volodos-recording is not DSD).
