I too try to buy as many SACDs as I can through linked vendors. However, there are two other vendors that I wish could be linked here...I will not mention them but both are in the US. Why do I wish that they were linked?? Because their prices can be WAY cheaper. For instance, take the SACD titles from Linn. On the major vendor's USA site, they are $35 a disc. WAY over the $30 price limit I will pay for a SINGLE disc. One of the places I buy them from are about $10-$15 CHEAPER!!!! That is VERY significant!!!

However, the Linn SACDs are not a regular purchase (like Telarc, Harmonia Mundi, etc). SO....I will still use the linked vendors about 65% of the time...the other 35% of purchases are through a local dealer and the two un mentioned internet dealers.

I for one would be more than willing to pay a smallish subscription fee for use of this site....especially if it keeps the site alive and healthy!!! I mean, where else can one go to get such current information???

Cheers,

Fact is, he left on his own accord. Stephen didn't ban him.

a) rubbish, - you keep peddling that untruth
b) paul leaves the ocassional review on amazon (is now a top 100 reviewer) but refrains from visiting this site except to co-use the wish-list function with me
c) dictating? by expressing consumer opinion to the site owner?
d) havent left a reviww on this site since i said i'd stop doing so.

My gosh Brenda, is all this necessary? Why can't you refrain from name calling (dutchtroll) etc. and which post by Stephan on the Capriccio Shostakovitch were you referring to?

windsurfer,
re. shostie post from stephen, go back and read his admonition of anyone buying from sites selling at £28 when amazon were selling for £89 (as an example).
re. my comments about not censoring certain user's vitriolic comments but admonishing about innocent information sharing, I take your point and have edited the reference out of my post.

However, it is surely a function of the site that SACD addicts can freely exchange information and tips, including about special deals and about discs not generally available on amazon/jpc.

I suggest you re-read what I said, rather than what you imagine I said.

Isn't it time for everyone to take a deep breath and be happy??? Gosh, there is enough hostility and unhappy feelings on the many of the other audio related sites as well as the cable news networks, so can we not return to the happy family that was here before???

Cheers,

I just bought my first SACD player a month ago and fortunately came across your fantastic website. I'll be shopping here first and will support you when possible. Thanks for such great work. Also to all of the readers they need to spread the word to fellow music lovers.

Quick question:
I horde things in my Amazon shopping cart. I'll often browse this site, find something I like, add it to my shopping cart on Amazon, but will wait for the price to come down or buy it at a later time. Do I have to purchase items the same session that I add them to my cart through this site in order for this site to benefit or can I buy them whenever as long as I add them to my cart through this site?

Thanks for the good work!
Matt

I do the same. For not-yet-released items, Amazon also has a policy of ensuring that you're charged the lowest price it's offered for up until it's released (see "Pre-Order Price Guarantee" in Amazon's online help).

I believe the window for referral fees is 90 days. That is, if you complete your purchase (proceed to Checkout) within this period, this site will benefit. Of course, if you come back here and add more items, this will restart the window. I don't want people to get too hung up on the mechanics of all this though. Just do what comes naturally but simply initiate (or finalize) your order by clicking on any link from this site. Hopefully it also makes finding stuff on Amazon (or whichever linked store) more convenient.

Thanks.
