Discussion: Mozart: Clarinet Quintet, Trio - Pascal Moraguès

Second CD encounter, after numerous common concerts, between Pascal Moraguès, one of the most famous French clarinet players, and the PRAŽÁK String Quartet. After a CD dedicated to Carl Maria von WEBER (PRAGA PRD 250 164) and highly praised by the specialised critics, they offer this new CD which includes two famous pieces for clarinet by Mozart.
The quintet was written in less than three days during September 1789 and the author of Don Giovanni juggles with the divertimento form, including in a superb classic construction a living masonic ceremony, exalting the "eternal frienship" which binds the "brothers" of his lodge, especially himself and Anton Stadler, the dedicatee of the piece.
As a prelude, Pascal Moraguès plays the famous “Kegelstatt-Trio", first masterpiece dedicated to Stadler and for which Mozart himself played the viola, giving the piano part to his landlady and pupil Franziska von Jacquin.
