Another year has gone by and I've nearly exploded from holding my breath! Is everything okay with ASMF Enescu/Mendelssohn?
Hi Arthur,
It has proven to be time consuming to do long distance editing and we have had other distractions like the economy which has shifted my focus from IsoMike hobby to core business Kimber Kable a bit, and Graemme has moved his facility in Vancouver. I can tell you that the project is just relaxing on a back burner, and everyone anticipates a conclusion at some point.
Kind regards,
Ray

Ray, do you plan to release Sleepy Hollow, the Musical, on SACD? Maybe this will start a trend to release other musicals on m/c SACD since the SACD catalog is sorely lacking in this category.
Hello Rammiepie,
This last test recording will help us decide what to do. A rough edit has taken place for use by Jim Christian, the composer. More news will be after the new year.
Kind regards,
Ray

I am heart-scalded to learn that the economy -- like Petrus -- is fixated upon hardware to the detriment of music.

For a pressure acoustic event, we have a positive electrical signal.
I generally trust specs and wiring, but to confirm everything we record a blank pistol and then verify that the waveform is indeed going positive in Pyramix.
We also finely match levels by using a B&K precision acoustic coupler on each microphone and then monitor the levels within Sony Sonoma by adjusting the 20-turn potentiometers on the EMM ADC. This assures that we have matched channel gain from acoustic event to Sonoma. The metering in Sonoma has 1/100 (or maybe it was 1/20th - oh my memory) dB resolution for calibration. Anyway it is very precise.
Kind regards,
Ray
Dear Beagle, I certainly would be a bad melomano, as proved earlier this year. I can not tell a tempo rubato from a presto etc... --------- Mr.Kimber, Thanks Mr.Kimber for this whole explanation, as a picky/boring audiophile I see IsoMike is vigilant with the small details of his work, this is the usual good service the audiophiles expect in a SACD disc.
Here is the famous and know table of Prevalent Absolute Polarity of some recording labels, as see in Fi magazine. So, should we have a switchbox next to the player, or do we just continue to get on all fours and reverse the speaker cables each time we change the record?

If your DAC or SACD player have a phase button you just press it to change from 0 to 180 degrees, and voile... you discover the effect is very subtle and ethereal etc... Some rare preamps have a phase button also. Reverse the speaker cable is a pain, I do not could do it.

On the basis of the 2008A disc Isomike is a waste of time & money. Incorrect mic technique

Why do you keep repeating yourself? It no longer serves any purpose and has become annoying (like a mosquito).

Donald,
I almost bit the bait here myself, before I remembered that these pale creatures feed upon the emotions of others.
