I've just ordered a copy of this from All Your Music via AmazonUK and because there seem to be two versions using the same barcode or product details, have sent AYM a message asking for them to confirm whether it's the stereo/multichannel version and cancel the order if it isn't. I'll update the thread when I get a response, or the disc, depending on which will resolve my query first.

The Amazon seller, All Your Music replied advising they could only provide limited details such as date of release and country of origin, plus title and track info, so I said I'm happy for them to dispatch it on the assumption I can return it if it turns out to be a stereo-only release. Will update in due course...

Well that is BS the way they answered you.

My first attempt I did not ask seller any questions and I got stereo version and I had to return as it was clearly a MCH picture on Amazon.

The second seller, I did ask, what does cover say and what does disc say. The seller confirmed they both said multi channel. It arrived this week, mch, now I need to listen.

Yeah it's not ideal - I mean, just imagine the inconvenience if everything was 'buy now, but we can't say for sure it's what you want-return later if it's not' - but I guess I'll find out one way or the other.

At least the return address is Freepost.

Beware of AYM !! I ordered the Stones 'Between the buttons' SACD from them and received the DSD remaster. They gave me the runaround for a refund and ultimately I had to file a complaint with my credit card company.

I hope yours was a rare aberration in customer service because if it's not the multichanel SACD, I want a refund, no fuss, plain and simple.

Derek,

I hope you get the version you want and expect. I've had exactly that sort of reply from that seller in the past, almost certainly to do with some of the Abkco SACDs. Unfortunately, it seems that these large-volume Marketplace sellers are unable to give detailed information about the products that they're selling. Some of the responses I've received were just standard/automated-type answers, stating something like, "Please refer to the Amazon product listing information"!

Tiresome - but what do you do? I'm sure you'll be able to send it back though without a problem if it is incorrect. That's where private Marketplace sellers are sometimes preferable - but we don't always have the luxury of choice.

Yeah I sometimes wonder whether some items are sold directly from the distributer and sellers simply forward details of the buyer when an item sells; which might explain why they can't give me details because they don't a physical copy in their warehouse.

I've bought lots of music from AYM and I'm sure if I need to return it for a refund, it'll be as simple as putting it in an envelope with the appropriate details and sending it back via the Freepost return address...I hope.

Yep - I've also wondered what the set up is. I suspect that the goods may actually be with the seller, but they have so much variety and quantity of stock - perhaps at a different location (i.e. warehouse) from where the "selling staff" are, that they're unable/unwilling to carry out checks.

From my experience, the goods will probably arrive with a UK postmark on (which always surprises me), and the return addresses always seem to be UK also. The transit time (i.e. delivery time) always matches that of trans continental though. Very weird.

I am going to get high tonight and Head Hunters is first up, gotta do a day of work.

I noticed the best tweak I can do to my system is when I get loaded, everything sounds great.
