I think that Mahler's Tenth Symphony (1911) is the most beautiful music in the world. Especially the finale is unforgettable - the emotional and peaceful farewell to life. Well, we have few realizations of the score: Cooke (the most popular, I think), Samale/Mazzucca, Barshai and Carpenter. Which one is your favorite? My own favorite is Deryck Cooke's reconstruction. I have the full score (published by Faber Music). Cooke's realization follows quite directly the composer's manuscript - the manuscript staves are printed at the below of the score. We surely need a multi-channel SACD recording of the score.
