Yes but, since none of the prior Denon players will output full resolution signals from SACD via HDMI, it would be nice to have a more explicit statement about these.

Mentioning optical disc players here that support DSD Disc I don't mind but for DSD recorders I would have preferred a separate thread, especially when the mere mention triggers another endless discussion about the benefits and drawbacks of DSD, like just happened.

Mebbe I am talking to myself but I just received an e-mail from Denon stating that the new players will output a full DSD signal from SACDs over HDMI. This is good.

Hi Kal,
Did the e-mail from Denon say whether DSD is output to PCM or directly to the analog outputs (like the Oppo-83)? (I do not have an HDMI receiver).

Perhaps you and the others on this group can advise me on my first SACD player. I have recently discovered SACD's after I have finally upgraded my stereo components after a couple of decades.
I am interested in SACD since almost all of my listening is classical music. So I am glad SACD is alive and well in the classical world.
Here are the players I am considering, given my modest budget of $499, which by no coincidence is the price of the OPPO BDP-83. I am not interested in multi-channel SACD; I am a stereo man and my receiver is only two channel with NO HDMI output. It is a new receiver (Harman Kardon HK-3490) and I am very happy with it, however, after reading many posts on this group, it appears that HDMI output may be preferred over the analog. Well anyway, I am considering the OPPO BDP-83, the new Denon BDP-1611UD and possibly the Sony S570 on the low end. My thought was the OPPO BDP-83 may be the best choice since it has that setting to send DSD directly to the analog outs. I don't currently have a blu-ray player but it would be nice to have the option. I have researched stand alone SACD players and most are out of my budget. The Onkyo CS-5VL was interesting but still not that much cheaper than the OPPO.
Any advice would be appreciated.
