Both the Naxox & Vanguard discs are excellent and beautifully recorded. As a Francophile and frequent visitor the songs have a particular nostalgic appeal for me.
OOP discs such as these are often quoted at high prices but it is doubtful anybody actually buys at those prices. As they say, why worry if you miss a bus another will come along soon enough!
I'll confess I don't quite see the point of this. I agree you may not want to listen to the whole thing in one shot, but I can't see how someone would not want Vol. 2, especially if the set is on offer cheaper than just the SACD version of Vol. 1.
