Hello,

I am new to the forum and only posting because I came across a Shanling SCD-T200 SACD Player in my father's storage (he recently passed). He was quite an audiophile and also has around 30 SACD and DVD-Audio titles. This stuff is way out of my league, but I am liquidating his property. The rules appear to not allow sales in this forum, so I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction of where I may find buyers for this gear. Thanks in advance.

There are many places where SACD players can be sold - and probably even more places to sell media such as SACDs and DVD-As. Apart from shops that deal with second-hand media (which in my experience don't give very good prices), there is Amazon and eBay. I have had very good experiences with both selling and buying unwanted SACDs/CDs/DVD-As on eBay.

I suppose it comes down to how much effort and time you can give to the task.

I could be potentially be interested, depending upon what you have. If you are interested, you'd be welcome to send me a private message. Let me know if you are - and I'll give you details privately.

If it is high end gear, check out audiogon (no e at end)

Daniel,
The best places to sell the Shanling player would be audiogon.com and ebay. A little research should inform you of the possible value of the player.
The best place to try and sell the discs is amazon, though you have to set up a seller account and do a few things. Ebay would also work for the discs.
Hope this helps.

It depends on your timeframe. If you want to move the discs quickly, then eBay is your best bet. You might get a little more selling through Amazon, but you might have to wait a bit longer for the buyer to meet your price. Recognize that eBay "buy it now" prices do not necessarily represent the item's sale value, assume it is 3/4-4/5 of the lowest Amazon offer in the relevant condition.

If you list on eBay, while you're not allowed to post a link to the sale, you are allowed to give your eBay store name out here (just don't link to it), and then members of this site will be able to find your auction.

Agreed that Audiogon is best for the player, but eBay might not be a bad option either, especially if you're doing the discs there as well.

For both eBay and Amazon, there are apps to list items using your phone as a barcode scanner. I recommend doing that - always list by barcode, not by searching for the item by name.

Man, you guys are great! Thanks so much for all the quick info. I've definitely come to the right place. I've still got a bit of a learning curve, but it looks like I will inventory the discs and look at Audiogon/Amazon/Ebay initially. I am happy to discuss things by email as well with anyone who is interested. Thanks again for all your help and expertise.

PS- who is Teresa?

Theresa has nickname "DSD" on this place :-)

That Shanling player has received good reviews, and if it's in good shape, you could probably ask nearly what it cost new (about $2600). Audiogon has a fixed fee--that price range would cost you $25 to list it.
