You are welcome, rammie! I keep my fingers crossed!

Thanks for the update Ear. I just emailed them and as proof of purchase included the bar code on the BD~A case. Hope that suffices. I did notice that it said DVD~A replacement but took a chance anyway requesting a replacement BD~A (although I wouldn't mind the DVD~A 5.1 w/o having to spring for the box set).

Did you get any answer yet Ralphie, I will wait and follow.

My replacement copy just arrived!

The new disc is predominantly fawn coloured whereas the original is more cream coloured. Apart from that however, they look almost identical.

I put it on for a brief spin and although I never played the original, it doesn't sound collapsed into mono at all regarding stereo and surround mixes, as the original reportedly was.

I'll rip it later for playback but now, it's lunchtime after some sunny cycling :)

Is the outer artwork (slightly) different? Is it possible to distinguish the replacement disc from the original without opening the first?

Mine received yesterday.

The corrected copy omits intro (company logo) and directly goes to replay 2ch version while previous release start 5.1 PCM playback after intro (you cannot skip).

From my point of view the corrected copy has only hardly listenable differences from the original release. Both BD-A versions differ from the original CD release (stereo mix).

It came to me as a disc only in the plastc bag inserted into bubble envelope.

I wonder whether stereo track is worth to listen to when multichannel version is so immersive that no stereo (corrected or not) could compete with!

regards

Alas I only received a replacement disc, which like sylvian's, came in a clear plastic slipcase, and shipped in a bubble-wrap padded enveloped.

Mark, this is regarding my response from Universal UK regarding my replacement disc (BD~A Sparkle In The Rain).

They flat out told me to return it to the dealer from which I purchased it. It was a vendor in Germany so WTF.....it's not worth it to me and even if I did don't know if the German vendor has the corrected replacement discs anyway.

Another nail in Universal's coffin as far as I'm concerned.

You can have mine if you want Ralph.

New Gold Dream is great as are quite a few of their other songs from other albums but, this album doesn't do it for me. I've already returned my original order for a refund and now have a new replacement disc lying around I won't play. Oh, and for some reason, I could't rip it, so that's another nail in its coffin for as far as I'm concerned.

My email address is in my profile, so if you want it, send me your details for posting and I'll post it when I'm off work on Friday.

I appreciate your kind offer, Derek, but after I fired off another email to them early this morning, I did receive another reply specifying that my replacement disc was ordered and is on its way.

And I totally agree after a preliminary listen that it is NO New Gold Dream!

Great news Ralph, and hopefully the album is one you'll enjoy. The mix might have been fixed, but alas the music doesn't do it for me. I've consoled myself tonight with a listen to the RBCD of New Gold Dream however, so I'm not entirely depressed about it :D

And one day, with a bit of luck, I'll get to hear the m/c mix of New Gold Dream...I can but dream...

How do you guys like Once Upon A Time? There's a 5.1 of that.
