Bread was always one of my favorite bands while I was growing up in Washington State. I remember getting this album back in 1973 at the local Pay N Save and playing it to death. Of course, other albums where these hits came from were really great too: Manna, Guitar Man, Baby I'm a Want You, and others.

David Gates was always the innocent voice of Bread and the song "If" was made to break the hearts of many a young lady. Everyone around me, of course, loved all the hard rock out there, and I did too, but Bread, while a guilty please to many, is still a great band. Jimmy Griffin was also a voice to be heard and it was the rocker in him that made many a great song on their albums. Sadly, he died long ago. Mike Botts and Robb Royer made up the rest of the band and it's with pleasure that I'll be buying this one when it comes available.

Guitar Man, was my favorite song but sadly not on this SACD release.

RBCD version has 20 selection but not this version.

You're right, Thomas. Guitar Man actually came out right after this record. Thing about this release is that it's reached platinum 5X whatever that means whereas the rest of the releases were never quite as popular. Manna and Guitar Man would be great releases

It should be a good Multichannel SACD. Gus Skinas at the Super Audio Center did the 4 Channel Quad transfer from Analog Master Tape to Multichannel DSD for the SACD release. As he did for the Best of the Guess Who Multichannel SACD that comes out later this month.

There's something perversely admirable about Audio Fidelity's stubbornness in sticking with the ugliest product design in the industry.

But, Tom, at least there's NO doubt that it is (1) Multichannel and (2) a bone fide SACD.

A lot of hi res discs have little or NO indication that they are SACDs or other hi res formats unless you see the reverse side....which a lot of websites do not display (the rear of the disc, that is).

And unlike the recent spate of MoFi SACDs, at least they come with a booklet!

I'd rather have clarity than obfuscation.

And in the final analysis: it's the music that counts!

And another caveat: AP discs are MORE generously discounted than MoFi and AP. Amazon sometimes charges above list for AP SACDs...MOST especially on pre~orders.
