I wanted to applaud this initiative from Naxos, till I visited the site : what a boring, bad, user unfriendly website ! In the download store I can't even find ANY information at all of the bitrate of any given recording, only 1 price... ridiculous !

There is no comparison with Qobuz, from which I regularly buy HiRez recordings besides streaming.

I wonder what the upcoming "Technics Tracks" will be like, hopefully much better than what Naxos is currently offering us...

Couldn't agree more!

Without any MC downloads it is a non-starter for me.

It's weird that Naxos is not offering MC downloads, given that they've said that they record all their orchestral/choral recordings for surround, and that the bottleneck is distribution. Maybe it's just because MC playback is a pain for the vast majority of listeners?

Perhaps they're basing their strategy of not releasing multichannel downloads on the sales of past and present multi releases on DVD~A, SACD and BD~A.......and if that's the case, not surprising, since the choices offered, IMHO, did not represent their core catalog in a 'flattering' light.

I must admit I'm surprised at the (non) reaction to this, with people instead focussing on the me-too download offerings.....

Well over 90% of the recordings I buy are multichannel and about 70% of my listening time is multichannel, so stereo streaming is not compelling to me.
