This is an excellent release. Rachel Podger plays an Italian instrument dating from several generations later than the era in which these compositions were written; her judicious use of madrigal-esque ornamentation draws attention to the historical transition from vocal to purely instrumental writing.
Kudos to Jared Sacks for the superb recorded sound. He keeps the microphones just far enough back from the baroque organ to preserves its warmth, detail and bloom, while capturing somewhat less mechanical noise than I've heard in other recordings.

Agreed, last month I received Podger’s Guardian Angel, surprise surpise, first time ever for Channel, it came in standard plastic jewel box, who knows perhaps Channel has decided to move away from their cheap cardboard disc holders. Well surprise did not last much, this week I received Bruckner 7 in digipack again.
Hate those cheap containers, anyone knows what is going on?

It depends on the title.
Most CC titles I have are in jewel box, but I received this in digipak format 3-4 years ago:
Bach: Magnificat - Jos van Veldhoven
It's nothing new.

Super Jewel Boxes are no longer being manufactured, so it's inevitable that new discs will come only in standard jewel boxes or digipaks.

Perla Barocca comes in a super jewel case. [Edit] But even it came in a digipack, I'd hope that its musical virtues would outweigh anyone's reservations about the quality of the packaging.
After posting my initial comment, I reviewed the session photos included in the booklet and found no pictures of the organ used in the recording, only the name of the builder. Does anyone know if the installed organ in the Westvest church was used, or was it a small Baroque-style instrument? Very different-sounding organ than the one played by Richard Egarr on Handel: Organ Concertos Op. 4 - Egarr.

Mine arrived today in an SACD jewel case--and what a wonderful recording it is! I suppose track 11, a wacky Chaconne by Renaissance composer Antonio Bertali, could be considered an encore. It's quite a hoot!

We brought in a small baroque chamber organ for this recording. Indeed I have no idea the name or make of the instrument.
