Thanks for this appreciative write up. I agree with you that the acoustics of the Henry Wood Hall are very nice and it was my first choice for this recording project. It is however not the first time we made a DSD surround recording there. One year earlier we recorded Mozart’s Clarinet concerto and quintet, also with the ASMF, and with Neville and Andrew Marriner. John Timperley did the stereo mix and I made the surround mix for that recording.

On the Pentatone website's newsletter of November 2005 you can see a picture of the recording set up of the ASMF wind ensemble recording.

My apologies - I have corrected my omission. I do not (yet) have the Marriner/Mozart disc...
