My first review concerning only the Mainz venue (DVD-A2 & BD-A1):

Elzer Hoff, March 30th. Reel 11 of the BLUE TAPES. What is special about this particular concert are the improvs The Savage, Arabica and Atria.

This venue has been presented first on KCCC disc and on double CD together with Asbury Park, though only in 44.1/16 resolution previously.

The Multichannel presentantion recreate the reality of this concert completely. One can be happy of hearing this music out of reach for some and out of time for many.

The usual numbers are Night Watch, Exiles, Lament, Starless, Easy Money and fragment of Fracture.

The special track is Doctor Diamond, which was played (and sung) only live and never materialized as a studio recording. From 1992 the decent version has been included on "The Great Deceiver" box set KCBX2 from Pittsburgh namely.

The STARLESS box contains almost every rendition of this track from (Brescia, Besancon, Avignon, Augsburg, Dieburg, Heidelberg, Pforzheim, Gottingen.....) other BLUE TAPES.

The entire SQ is so good that if you close your eyes you can get the feeling as if you were present there.

This proves not only the qualities of KING CRIMSON band members themselves but also the engineers of the time, that were capable to preserve this music up to these days when broader public can have an access to it.

This quality completely justifies the price (if it were only for DVD-As and BD-As) for the entire set and I am looking forward to hear another discs through next weekend.

Is it early to say GET IT WHILE THE STOCK LASTS? - I do not know now. But I am tempted to say, that it surpasses previous two sets!
