I received the following in an email from Elusive Disc, this afternoon:

We learned of a pressing defect on the Jeff Buckley SACD. We removed our stock and have voided your credit card charge. Once the repressing arrives, about 30 days, we will recharge your card and ship your Jeff Buckley disc(s).

So, how does your disc sound? Does it play ok?

Were there any bonus cuts, Lerxst?

Sony released a 2 disc deluxe remaster of Grace a few years back which included copious bonus cuts.

Have any surfaced on ORG's SACD remaster?

No extra cuts rammiepie, but if you like the disc, you'll be more than satisfied. The detail is stunning.

It sounds fantastic and plays fine on my Oppo BDP 95. Sorry to hear about the defect, but rest assured, it will absolutely be worth the wait.

Point of Interest: Jeff Buckley's widow detested the SONY 2~disc remaster (SQ wise) and ORG SACDs have, IMHO, NEVER disappointed.

Thanks for the 'mini' review.

Did you receive your disc from Elusive Disc, or another outlet?

I'm wondering if they are saying the entire first run is defective, or just certain discs.

The email I received was before they even shipped my disc, so obviously, it wasn't me who discovered a defect, as I haven't received it yet.

What was the resolution of the original recording? I assume it was DDD?

Recorded to analogue on Studer A800 multitrack recorders. ORG was supplied analogue tapes from SONY and the SACD will be all analogue to the DSD stage.

Thanks Rammie. That means the SACD SHOULD sound way better than my original CD version. I wonder why it's not listed on this website?

ORG announced cancelation of all future SACDs awhile back and then bowed to pressure from fans who raised a stink.

With multitracks available, would love an eventual 5.1 mix of Grace....a very ethereal recording.....condusive for a mch treatment.

Why, it is from approximately 12 bit equal analog tapes with pitiful frequency response, not to mention peak compression etc etc.
