It may be worthwhile to know that these new AP versions are abbreviated versions of the original SACD releases, containing about half the music. The same amount that is on the single-disk vinyl version.

A lot of AP SACDs, in general, seem to skimp on length. Wish most didn't sound so good....

I think the target demographic are those who follow Steve Hoffman religiously.

Hm. I think these discs are being done by Sterling Sound in NYC, not SH.

More specifically Ryan Smith @ Sterling Sound.

Still like the soundmirror remastering.

John Sunier says the two releases sound identical. Methinks people are choosing to hear what they want to hear.

So he gave the original **** and the AP release ***** ....... strange!

Yet he highly recommended the Soundmirror version for the bonus cuts (80 minutes of music)!

And why do you think that?

This is really making me scratch my head: I don't have a problem with matters of personal taste, or anyone finding the new APO expensive given the short playing time, or deploring the fact that the Concerto in F is missing etc. - but to say the two remasterings sound the same says more about the reviewer (and/or his equipment) than the two releases (which I'm comparing now, and I don't even like the sound of the one compared to the other - at all).

Greetings from Switzerland, David.
