Last week, I found some SACD's in Zhuhai,China in a shop at Gongbei Mall close to Macau border. They were samplers from Linn, McIntosh, Marantz, etc. selling at 55 RMB (US$8.8 or 6.3€). They were fake copies in a thicker cardboard digipack with slightly bolder texts and logos compared to the original superjewel cases and media, but with the full inner booklet.

By curiosity I bought the following ones:
- Closer to the Music, Vol.2, Stockfisch Records
- Closer to the Music, Vol.3, Stockfisch Records
- The Super Audio Surround Collection Volume 2, Linn Records
- McIntosh reference vocal sound Jazzing Mico, TopMusic
- Marantz High-End Audiophile Test Demo SACD, 14th Edition, STS

As expected, the media is a standard "silver" CD compared to the usual "gold" SACD.

Surprisingly, on most of these "SACD" all the tracks are there with their original number, but will play in a different order.

I guess they were built from the Redbook layer of the original SACD, so they sound pretty good for CD.

I also bought a supposedly SHM-CD of Fourplay's Esprit de Four for 22 RMB (US$3.5 or 2.5€). Packaging in jewel case was an almost perfect copy with the extra SHM-CD japanese overlabel. Again normal "silver" CD.

If you are interested, I can provide more details.
So just be aware that they may be selling on the net. There must be a market for these samplers worth to manufacture fake ones.

Mind you, only hybrid SACDs are gold -- single-layer ones are silver. See the /faq#discs3

So these were fake copies of real SACDs? So far I'd only heard about fake SACDs of albums that were never released in the format, often with every imaginable high-end logo on it -- K2/XRCD, HDCD, SACD, DSD, you name it.

They are fake copies of published SACD's:
- Closer to the Music, Vol.2, Stockfisch Records (Stockfisch-Records - Closer to the Music Vol. 2)
- Closer to the Music, Vol.3, Stockfisch Records (Stockfisch-Records - Closer to the Music Vol. 3)
- The Super Audio Surround Collection Volume 2, Linn Records (The Super Audio Surround Collection Vol. 2)
- McIntosh reference vocal sound Jazzing Mico, TopMusic (McIntosh Reference Vocal Sound)
- Marantz High-End Audiophile Test Demo SACD, 14th Edition, STS (See /showthread/112271/112271)

By the way, I missed a 6th one I bought: 4 Sax Only, Saxophone Quartet L'imprévu, STS (4 sax only - Saxophone quartet l'imprevu)

SACD logo is either in shiny silver or gold while on most originals it is in black or white.

Herebelow you get a scan of the fake SACD on the left and the image of the original I found in the related thread on the right side.
You can recognize the fake one as the SACD logo and '14' number are in gold ink with a slight offset. Shape of 'a' in Marantz is different.

I've seen these too, and even bought some of them in Vietnam, not realizing they were fakes. In Vietnam, these are obviously coming over from China and are often frustrating to see when I open them up to find they are fakes.

You guys paid too much. The suppliers are in Indonesia, for each disc costing 40 cents each without the hardcover (it comes with plastic sleeve and back and front insert usually).

The one in China should be 10 RMB max.
