Does pioneer dvd player dv-610av supports Dsd through analogue outputs?

Although quite close to an analogue signal, DSD is really a digital signal that can only be passed through digital connections such as i.Link/FireWire/IEEE1394, HDMI and USB.

See /faq#audio1

Do not know....but operating instructions seems to have the answer: DSD is output over HDMI. Analog outs have always output analog-only signal that has been converted internally.....do not know which DAC Pioneer used for this player, but I doubt it would be a good one.

Consult p38 of your manual, pls

I have had this player in my setup since 2007. First, I used the 6 channel analog out because my AVR did not have HDMI in. The sound was very good but then I upgraded my AVR and now I use DSD through HDMi and my Marantz AVR does the conversion from DSD to analog. It is much better this way.
I heard that when the analog out is used, the Pioneer converts the DSD signal to 88.2 kHz PCM first and then to analog. But the manual does not mention this.

That is what I have expected.......prudential attitude to prevent any digital copying from the start!

Quite, as long as video output is configured for at least 720P. It will only play 2-channel SA-CD if SD video output is configured. I've never used analogue outputs, HDMI only, so I can't offer any information as regards quality of those ouputs.

It's a well built machine as my DV-610 has been in my system since 2008. Quite attractive bit of kit, as well.

Also, firmware updates for this machine and other Pioneer models are at:
http://www.pioneerfaq.info/index.php?question=Firmwares&type=DVD

... latest is v2.6A from 2011 for this machine.

Yeah, I can vouch for this player,as well.It is a rebadged Elite for the international and especially US military overseas markets.Plays anything you throw at it.

Also, bass management options via analog outs are limited. No way to make up for the 10db cut.
