Yay (muted).

If I didn't have my Senny HD800s, I would now be excited.

I would also be excited if Oppo could deliver gapless playback from USB input on the otherwise exemplary 105EU/D universal players! Seems like this is one gotcha they cannot nail, strangely enough.

Back to the headphones, though, I believe they also have a tasty matching headphone amp, the HA-1, in the pipeline:

Depending on price, I'm hoping to buy the HA-1. ( I think available, late April ? ) Oppo, as we know, makes class products !

C'mon. $1100? Seriously? There's no way.

No worries, the PM-2 will be out this summer with only a price tag of $700. I might be tempted to buy those along with their new amp.

I didn't know they made headphones so cheaply... (with apologies to the late Alan Clark)

I know Oppo's packaging is very nice, ( definitely, OTT ! ) but that is a added cost that the consumer does not need !!
Less of the extravagant packaging, to enable a more affordable price, please !!!

I just tried them out at a headphone meet yesterday. Great build, and very comfortable. I liked them, though others thought they seemed muddy. I think at 400 dollars or so, they'd be a good deal. Unfortunately, not at 1K-plus. There's a thread, with some impressions of this headphone from yesterday's NYC meet, on head-fi.org.
