Dear SA-CD.net moderator,

If you really want traffic to come to your door, I suggest you be the clearing house to review all hi-res audio formats. I would have to think that HDTracks would far outsell the other format eventually, so if you want to stay relevant ...

That's not what this site is about.

+1

While I do believe HDTracks and other download websites (Acoustic Sounds, included) deserve their own speciality website replete with reviews, etc., at this time, SA~CD.net deals exclusively with SACD and now Blu Ray Audio.

Something that the download mavens on this site should consider: Start your own download site as the time is certainly ripe for such an undertaking.....a daunting task, to be sure, with thousands of titles available in multiple codecs and then of course, the task of aligning with the various download site entrepreneurs to exact revenue for your efforts.

A Yeoman's journey....but think of the ultimate reward!

Wait, is this hiredfox, canonical, or audioholic engaging in just a wee bit of trollage...........?

If not, I share your sentiment, but it seems for now this site is dedicated to the only two thriving physical hi-rez media: SACD and Blu-ray.

Hi

Ignore the usual attack-zealots and luddites, who respond in a peculiarly Pavlovian way to the word 'Download'.

Download. Download. There. I said it again. Twice. Prepare for attacks of mindless hostility, as if I give a damn. In fact, their religious fervor does make me chuckle, rather.

Not sure I could wholeheartedly recommend HDTracks. On the plus side, their download engine and experience is pretty smooth, though. Prices are about par for the course - at present. Still, too high in absolute terms.

As a primarily classical listener, however, I would have to point out that their content is pretty thin in comparison to - say -The Classical Shop and eClassical. OK, the Reference Recordings and few Living Stereos are fine - although possibly debatable in provenance; the Everests are a very mixed bag. Caution recommended.

Cheers

And once more for luck - 'download'. Tee-hee.
