PCM 24/96 DTS-HD MA 24/96 Dolby True HD 24/96
Why they bother with 3 different resolution? they all sound the same.

Thanks.
As they're either the "raw" master or just different flavours of lossless compression, quite! I suppose it's in case a hardware manufacturer decided not to support all varieties.

I love George and some of this works (though it lacks atmosphere due to the way the crowd is mixed and faded up & down in the mix) but oh the sibilance.. the sibilance.. "Cowboyssssss and angelsssss.." or rather "Cowboysssssshhhh and angelssssshhh.." Yuck!

Probably mixed to support the user LCD.

Weird. The original Cowboys and Angels on "Listen Without Prejudice" isn't especially sibilantastic. I guess you could always cut the high treble.

For some rather strange reason, the PCM tracks always sound better on my system (and I've noticed that the reviewers on Blu~Ray.com share my sentiments, as well).
Have NO idea why.
And this has been the case, across the board, with ALL the Universal BD~As!

After a few tries between the 3 different audio, LPCM is the one to use. That's why I say why bother with the others.

Ditto: I meant to say LPCM, Hoop.
Regarding this BD~A, I'll sit on the fence on this title until the BD~V with 5.1 surround is released.
No use "double dipping" on this audio only stereo BD~A!

Pulse-code modulation (PCM) is a method used to digitally represent sampled analog signals. It is the standard form of digital audio in computers, Compact Discs, digital telephony and other digital audio applications. In a PCM stream, the amplitude of the analog signal is sampled regularly at uniform intervals, and each sample is quantized to the nearest value within a range of digital steps.
Linear pulse-code modulation (LPCM) is a specific type of PCM where the quantization levels are linearly uniform.[5] This is in contrast to PCM using, for instance, A-law algorithm or μ-law algorithm where quantization levels vary as a function of amplitude. While PCM is a more general term, it is often used to describe data encoded as LPCM.
Not much of a difference.
