For 11 years this site has covered exclusively Super Audio CD. While the prime focus will continue to be Super Audio CD, starting today I've opened the site up to additional high resolution music formats, the first of which is Blu-ray Audio. New content will be added over time but I first wanted to give everybody a look at the updated interface, the prime attribute being the new/updated Format selector. This drop-down menu has been rolled out throughout the site, specifically so everybody can tailor their view of the site's content to their own preferences. It's a global and should be retained during your visit.

Why the change?

For over a decade Super Audio CD has been the format of choice where great sound quality and ease of use are concerned. This is no longer the case. It's been joined by other means delivering comparable listening pleasure ... which I presume is the focus of most here. Hopefully you'll discover some really great new music on the updated site.

Why not create a new site specifically focused on Blu-ray Audio?

It's my belief that both the site and its users will benefit of the cross pollination that will hopefully result. I want to introduce current users to great new content. Also new users to the existing wealth of nearly 10,000 Super Audio CD titles (though admittedly not all still in print). Hopefully I have been sensitive enough in the implementation so nobody feels the change is being forced on them.

What if you're not interested in Blu-ray Audio?

Just set the Format selector to "Super Audio CD".

What about ... (fill in the dots)?

Now that the mechanics have been implemented it will be easier to add additional formats, should this be deemed desirable. I am not at liberty to discuss future plans (if any). It will take a while for the site to catch up to currently available Blu-ray Audio content.

What about the site name?

While there are changes to come in rebranding the site, I haven't made my mind up on the aspect of domain name. As I have said, the prime focus remains Super Audio CD so maybe no change is required.

Hopefully we can all join in on this journey of discovery.

Stephen

A STANDING ovation!

Just ordered my first blu ray audio disc from THIS site!

As a suggestion for a name change, just put "Incorporating Blu Ray Audio" (or BD~A) beneath the SA.CD.net name.

Simple and efficient!

So far all I see are SACD-Blu Ray combo set, none that's just Blu Ray.

Patience, Hoop. Zeus still has a ways to go. BTW, do you have the Beastie Boys BD~A 5.1/RBCD combo: Hot Sauce Committee Part II?

The MoFi KIK0 SACD is amazing. Great Bass (and so is Hall & Oates H20)

No I don't, I'll look into it though. All my moneys tied up on upcoming SHM-SACDs

And building the Hooperthom Music archive extension onto your house!

Conspicuous music consumption has taken a toll on lack of storage space in my house.

They're EVERYWHERE! Like little furry gremlins.

Are we allowed to summit Blu Ray tiles like we can for SACDs.

Sure, though there will be necessary refinements to the process in coming days.

That's my problem, as well.

You might try implementing my solution to that. Solves it straight away. : )
