My copy is on its way from Japan to me (in Vancouver)
$45 CAN total with shipping by Registered Air Mail, (no import duty here for discs).
The contents beyond "Pictures" is still a bit of a mystery.
What I have seen merely says that "Scheherazade" is a bonus
track but not how much of it.

Tell us all about it when you get it. Very interested in purchasing the disc, but have way too many SHM-SACD I want to get.

If you are not familiar with Tomita's original quad issues on CD-4 vinyl,
this a remastered version, I am assuming analogue, and is 4.0 mc.
The original LP did not have much room for additional content beyond the 'Pictures'
but there is plenty for xtra material here on the SACD.
Typically you are surrounded by the various electronic instruments
as in the Planets, and Debussy Ultimate edition SACDs already released.

Tomita: Planets (Ultimate Edition)
Tomita: Clair de Lune (Ultimate Edition)

I have mine on order from Amazon UK (Marketplace seller) since yesterday, and am waiting for it to despatch. I assume that'll happen tomorrow.

I'm very pleased that there is now another MCH Tomita hi-res disc to go along with all my other hi-res albums from him, such as three versions of The Planets and the recent Clair de Lune album.

It'll be interesting to see how it compares with the original. I look forward to more Tomita MCH hi-res albums coming out, such as Firebird and Kosmos.

Me also, I love these albums and the come to life in surround sound. Am pleased to see SACD being supported this way.

I do not expect this to be a remastered version. I think it will be a new recording and since it is electronic music it should be better than the original. I do have it on order from cdjapan

Yes - I agree, In fact, I'd be surprised if it wasn't a new version. I expect it to be a remake, exactly as all the previous hi-res versions. Initially, perhaps I was slightly disappointed when I first listened to my very first hi-res Tomita "re-issue", which would have been the DVD-A version of "The Planets", but the attraction of a multi-channel audio and hi-res version more than made up for it. What is amazing, is that Isao Tomita is still at work producing this music. Wonderful!

OK, just got my copy.
There are 13 tracks.
Total disc time is 48 minutes.
1-11 are the "Pictures" and about 38 minutes.
Track 12 is "Scheherazade" Rimsky-Korsakov (4:34)
Track 13 is "The Sea Named 'Solaris' Bach/Tomita (5:19)

All notes are in Japanese so I cannot offer more info on production.
I have the original CD-4 quad release so may make a comparison later
tp see what changes were made if any.
Sound on this 4.0 SACD is as good as the other Ultimate Editions.

Thanks for that. I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive.

I think that "The Sea Named Solaris" was originally on the LP album called "Bermuda Triangle", if I'm not mistaken. I got rid of that LP and all others around 14 years ago.
