I've bought quite a few sacd and dvd-audio discs now and was thinking about what I would like to hear in surround.

Thomas Dolby an early adopter of technology in his day would seem to fit the bill. Just wondered if anyone else would agree?

The Golden Age Of Wireless and The Flat Earth are both excellent albums which should suit multi-channel well. I believe he also did the soundtrack to Gothic by Ken Russell.

I concur with Thomas Dolby, I would LOVE to have the whole collection on SACD. Since he is a wee bit obscure I don't think it will happen, but "Flat Earth", "Astronauts and Heritics" and "Aliens Ate my Buick" would be in my collection as soon as they came out if they were available. Heck I think I am going to listen to some of his music tonight- thanks for the reminder.

"The Flat Earth" is an amazing album, for song quality, variety, arrangement, and sonic quality. It can make any audio system sound great. This record never ceases to surprise people who aren't familiar with his music, and only know him for "Hyperactive" and as a "one hit wonder". I have it on vinyl and use is as a reference and test record all the time.

Would love to have it on SACD, again, as a reference, and as it would probably blow people away for all the reasons stated above.

Nice to know there are others out there that recognize this underappreciated artist.

Have fun,
RickMac

P.S: This is my first post here. I can't believe it's taken me so long to find this place! I usually hover around over at AA in the vinyl section.
