A NO brainer purchase for me considering AP's track record. The vinyl sounded terrific (audiophile to the nth degree)!
Addenda: Just placed my order with Acoustic Sounds for this long awaited SACD. Will post a review soon.

I have the 24/176 download and it sounds incredible, but I'll still the the SACD for my collection.

Do you have the DSD download of Santana Abraxas, Hoop. Notice MoFi is also coming out with their version on SACD but I have to say.......My DTS 5.1 of Abraxas is freaky good.....engulfs the listener and fills my entire room with sonic marvels. It is a MAJOR contender for a full hi res upgrade in 5.1.......

No I don't but do have a test pressing Japanese SACD and its sounds very good. You know me, I'll probably get the MoFi one too. LOL

I ordered the SACD today, just curious to hear any difference between the actual disc and the 24/176 download.

Assuming AP uses the same masters and as one other poster has commented on, it will probably have to do more with the 'quality of the SACD playback device' to make the comparison.
Should be interesting!
I also ordered the Ella Fitzgerald (finally) SACD of Let No Man Write My Epitath and the Coleman Hawkins Encounters Ben Webster both on Verve and the final (presumably) Frank Sinatra (MoFi) Point of No Return as Universal now owns the Capitol catalogue and MoFi has ceased all future Frank Sinatra SACDs (unless a contract is renegotiated with Universal).

More Frank in SACD to come from MoFi, actually-- Songs for Swingin' Lovers and A Swingin' Affair.

Thanks, Hoop.
Perhaps Only The Lonely (both Mono and Stereo versions) will be on SHM~SACD DSD mastered from original analogue masters. One Can only hope!
