I have one DSD download where a track won't play on the Oppo, and one that clips. I have many 24/192 downloads where it clips between tracks, I have only a couple of 24/94 and 24/88 where the clipping occurs. And one AIFF I ripped myself that clips, out of about a hundred such rips.

Have you loaded all the existing firmware updates to your Oppo? Perhaps a call to their wonderful service department might help, chalkperson.

I finally downloaded the latest OPPO firmware update which was released in July 2013 and at the very least it eliminated the clipping of the first few seconds of playback on SACD.

Wonder if it addressed the DSD download issue......an issue which I cannot confirm as I do not download at present?

OPPO just specified that it eliminated "certain bugs {?}" which plagued their units (BDP~83 through the 103/105 series).

Sounds like not all is well in Oppo-land. Maybe a format too far. :-)

An OPPO a day.............

No rotten apples here, Euell.

Wouldn't be caught dead without one!

Oppo has detailled change logs for their firmware upgrades. Where did they state that they fixed "certain bugs"?

Well, Claude, with your detailed list, it seems those were the "bugs" that were resolved.

Quite a "swarm" I would add.

Euell, what do you expect from a product that was conceived in Silicon Valley (YOUR neck of the woods) and assembled in China?

A few simple firmware updates provided by a brilliantly attentive service department cured the bugaboos instantly!

So, Euell, is Mrs. Neverno going to lavish an OPPO on her beloved for the holidays {along with a BD~V of "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas}?

I'm waiting for ALL the bugs to be exterminated.

Gee, Euell, glad I don't have you for a customer!

You're one tough cookie.......
