To set the history correctly, Poco was not the first country-influenced rock band, The Byrds are attributed with that. Furay and Messina had been with Buffalo Springfield, and, of course, Messina teamed up with Kenny Loggins shortly after he parted company with Poco some time in the early 70s — 1972 IIRC.

Not a review and not even related to this disc, but I remember about 30 years ago (can it have been that long already!) I was working a miserable job on the ferry boat from Connecticut to Long Island, NY - over 100 hours a week with a take home pay of around 200 dollars, and during a break, I started talking with someone who told me he was a musician. I asked if he played in a group and he said, "yes, Poco" - apparently he was on his way to a gig in some small club in New Bedford, Mass. or somewhere. My brush with fame ...
