This was my first album to come by from RW ever....glad that i got rid of it long time ago. Pink Floyd were great band, but I would not follow members solo releases ever. A personal taste of course.

While you are correct, Amused to Death (a double album) has probably more in common with PF's The Wall than any other PF solo project.
And as I mentioned on another thread, AP's stereo SACD will be DSD remastered in "Q~Sound" which will provide, when played through a Dolby Pro Logic II (or equivalent) decoder, aggressive surround activity.
Something to consider, sylvian.
Already pre~ordered my copy from AmazonUS via this thread.

I have got a problem with Waters lyrics (sometimes it is unbearable - see Final cut, which I consider his most personal one) so my resentment stems from content and not from the SQ, Ralph. And also musically ATD is not shiny masterpiece, IMHO.

Something I look forward to. I had Madonna's Immaculate Collection as a teenager (a mistake of youth I ended up selling, from an artist I'm glad not to have in my disc collection anymore) and I remember the Q-sound treatment gave absolutely stunning results while playing with Pro-Logic DSP !
I never heard this album, but given the reviews I read and the special touch of Water's lyrics in The Wall, I'd like to give this one a try. Sylvian is true by saying RW's lyrics can disturb easily. They are very raw, personal, nauseous at times. But I like this, I think this is full of spirit and character (typical french point of view ;-) ) Such lyrics are the ones that point a finger at the world, and unveil people's eyes in front of many monstrosities hidden by habits. I think an album entitled "Amused To Death" (so ironic and representative of nowadays human condition) with a sleeve showing a monkey watching TV (and the TV itself is a human eye watching the monkey) has to honor such a spirit.

Yes Anthony, agreed on this.....humanity somewhat evaporated from our world....and therefore I do not need RW to remind me of that fact.

Well, I wouldn't say America is as innocent as a choir child, but I believe all nations have their share of shame.
No country really has clean hands nowadays. It is human nature leaning towards its bad side. Had WWII been the opposite of what it was (happened in the USA and Europe would have freed them), Europe would be the world's criticized bossy policeman today.
It is the heart of the problem that must be changed, not its surface.

Well, it's been so long since everyone has pre-ordered that one... I have kept checking, but couldn't find any updated estimated time of release... does anyone have any info that slipped through my investigation ?
