Just a little story about compression.
I'm guitarist and I've always noticed that people prefer when a guitar sounds naturally compressed.
For example the Fender Jazzmaster, because of his pickups and electronic, has a very dynamic sound but a majority of people prefer the more compressed sound of Stratocaster.
Does it mean Jazzmaster are more "audiophile" guitar than Stratocaster? I don't think so...

A Stratocaster sounds compressed?
I use a Keeley Compressor - just for my Stratocasters!

Message to Nicolas

Since you live in France, I assume you are French too, or French speaking at least.
If you don't mind, I'd like to ask you a favor :
I am a big contributor of the Super Audio CD article in the French Wikipedia and I try to keep it as much neutral as possible, not letting my personnal opinions taint the article in a "pro SA-CD" way.
However, some guy is vandalizing the article in a way that seems, according to me, much subjective, "pro-PCM and anti-SACD". A very fierce discussion between him and me is happening and this guy insists so much, I need a second opinion to assess whether he really is completely wrong.
Can you please have a look at this and give your own opinion ?
Here's the link to the discussion page. The concerned section is "Suppression non justifiée" at the bottom of the page. Any other french speaking member of this forum is, of course, encouraged to give their opinion.

Jazzmasters with 1meg pots and very wide single coil pup produces a more dynamic sound than Strats, it was a comparison between 2 guitars.

Getting back on Track, the upcoming SHM~SACD of Cream's Disraeli Gears will contain all 11 cuts of the original album in Stereo and Mono as well as 5 bonus cuts for a total of 27 tracks and will utilize the 2013 DSD remaster from the original US* analogue master tapes.

{*The album was recorded in May 1967 at Atlantic Studios in New York City}
