You need to get out on the Internet more often!. Warner Japan have been recently active with multichannel Western pop SACD releases, Japanese pop retrospective sets, the forthcoming Yes box set and this year they released a teaser series of 20 analog reissues from Telefunken and Erato:

You're right, I do. Even as I penned a reply to your entry, I realised my remark was a hostage to fortune but it was late and far too late to check. 20 classical titles so far but nothing on this scale.

Yes, but if the Japanese SACD release of Rattle & the BPO follows precedent, it will be 2-channel SACD only. Alas.

Many of us are stereo fanatics but I can fully understand how mch users feel about it.

Some of the EMI Rattle SACDs are multichannel.

I can confirm that it will be just stereo, not MCH. Originally intended to be released by EMI / Universal Japan. SACD release taken over by Warner's Japan now.

So how are things at Abbey Road, Simon? Still in biz and any SACD hopes for the future?

Possibility of some more SACDs via ex-EMI colleagues in Japan who are now with Warner's. Yes, we're still in business, just adjusting to life in UMG!

May have to buy the Blu-ray video release for MC
The video is 3D but should be backwards compatible with 2D players.

It has a 2D version of the programme so should not be an issue for those without a 3D capable player.

The SACD is stereo only, so for MC you choices are on DVD or Blu-ray.
"The Berliner Philharmoniker in Singapore"

Contents:
Mahler: Symphony No. 1 in D major 'Titan'
Rachmaninov: Symphonic Dances, Op. 45

Recorded live at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, Singapore, 22 & 23 November 2010.

Blu-ray (video): PCM Stereo, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1
DVD (video): PCM Stereo, DD 5.1, DTS 5.1

When will the MC Bells show up..who knows.
Excerpts of all can be seen and heard on youtube.
