Does your player have within the set-up menu a "preference" function for you to set up? My player has this function, whereby I can select that when a DVD-A or Hybrid SACD is loaded into the machine, the player automatically finds the hi-res content of that disc. DVD-As and SACDs are treated separately within the set-up menu of my player, and if I wanted, I could have the player go straight to the CD layer of a hybrid SACD.
It's just another though, and apologies if I'm pointing out the obvious - I'm not at all familiar with your player.
