No argument about the performance. Excellent. The sound however does not seem to be 5.1 DSD. The Oppo decodes it as SACD PCM 5.0 and that sounds about right. I could not get any sound from the sub-woofer. I wonder of we are not going to get 5.1 SACDs any more. I agree with Castor's review otherwise.

This is indeed a DSD recording. I don't care what your Oppo says. Actually, your Oppo, or any other playback device, only sees DSD coming from an SACD. It doesn't matter what the recording medium is originally. What is coming off the disk is a DSD stream.

Period.

Now, you might be converting it to PCM for playback in your system. This is highly likely. But again, this was most definitely recorded in 64fs DSD by SoundMirror. Now, how much of it was edited in DXD, only Sound Mirror knows.

i have an oppo bdp 93 and the output is SACD DSD in 2.0 and in 5.0
perhaps you have to set DSD in setup -> audio format setup -> sacd output,
otherwise your oppo converts from DSD to PCM.
